This 3-day conference is a must attend event (Pre-conference Workshops are additional), bringing together professionals and subject matter experts for an HP immersion learning experience. This year’s theme, Lighting the Path, helps HP professionals on the continuation of their HP journey. The purpose of the Human Performance Work Group (HPWG) and the conference is to provide common vocabularies, tools, techniques, and training materials to assist organizations in the promotion and sustainability of Human Performance practices.

Pre-Conference Workshop 1: Human Performance 101, Jake Mazulewicz JMA
This registration is ONLY for the Pre-Conference Workshop 1. Please register for EITHER Workshop 1, 2 or 3, NOT all three. if you’re new to Human Performance Improvement (HPI), or if you need a practical refresher, then join us in this interactive workshop. You’ll hear the story of how one doctor managed to save over 1,500 lives by applying basic HPI defenses in clever ways. You’ll discover how to use each of the three core strategies of HPI — Apply Defenses, Improve Processes, & Build Resilience. You’ll see field-tested innovations on classic concepts like the SAFER questions, Situational Awareness, Error Traps, and Performance Modes. You’ll find out one of the biggest reasons why HPI programs fail…and how to avoid it. This registration is ONLY for the Pre-Conference Workshop 2. Please register for EITHER Workshop 1, 2 or 3, NOT all three. WECC would like to thank NERC for providing this Pre-Conference Workshop COMPLIMENTARY. The fee will cover lunch and materials. In this Pre-Conference Workshop, you will learn how to promote reliability through the application of Root Cause Analysis. The class teaches the principles of cause analysis (data collection, corrective actions, reporting, and follow-up), including discussion on cause coding and trend analysis.

The control room continues to grow as big data, organizational change, new generation, load, and control technologies, and markets continue to grow. Operators now need to be able to think further ahead, maintain a system that changes faster, and to make decisions between more kinds of controls to solve problems, as well as to intuitively and quickly understand what their increasing numbers of automation systems and markets are doing to support the system. This keynote will provide an overview of the incredible opportunities a control room will have into the future, to maintain a system reliably at higher levels of efficiency, while also strengthening the support for their operators to be even more successful in their organizations achieving their missions.

2017 WECC Human Performance Conference: Lighting the Path

This 3-day conference is a must attend event (Pre-Conference Workshops below are additional), bringing together professionals and subject matter experts for an HP immersion learning experience.             

This year’s theme, Lighting the Path, helps HP professionals on the continuation of their HP journey.

What are my transportation options for getting to and from the event?

From the Airport to WECC: It is simple to get to WECC from the airport! TRAX is the mass transit system and it leaves right from the airport terminal 1. For maps, schedules and fares, visit the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) website.

 

How do I get to the WECC office from the Salt Lake City International Airport?

From SLC Airport to WECC: TRAX: Get off at the 5th stop (North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe). WECC is in the red brick building next to the bridge the train stop is on. Walk down the bridge heading East and WECC is in the building on your left.

Getting around downtown Salt Lake City: The Arena TRAX station (one stop past WECC) starts the Free Fare Zone. This makes it easy to get around downtown Salt Lake for dinner and sight-seeing.

 

What are my parking options at WECC?

Please be aware that parking at the WECC office (Salt Lake Hardware Building) is very limited. We recommend using public transit or carpooling. You will find additional visitor parking immediately on the west side of the building marked “Visitor”. You will also find additional parking across the street, East of our building, for a nominal fee.

 

What is there to do while in Salt Lake City?
