Event description

Description

Artwork by the Swedish abstract painter and mystic Hilma af Klint, now on display at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Altarpiece, No. 1, Group X, 1915.

The world constantly pulls our attention outward. By turning the focus within, our natural inner radiance is kindled and begins to illuminate our life’s journey. In this two-day workshop, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan will introduce the history, philosophy and foundational practices of the Sufi path brought to the West by his grandfather Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927).

Through contemplative practice and spiritual conversation, Pir Zia will guide an inner exploration leading toward greater self-knowledge, which the Sufis recognize as the goal of all revealed religions.

If you are hoping to learn more about Inayati Sufism, this is a perfect opportunity. This weekend is open to new seekers as well as those with experience. Join us in person in Richmond, Virginia, or online worldwide.

The Way of Illumination offers the following benefits:

  • Gain a broad understanding of the Sufi path as taught by Hazrat Inayat Khan
  • Imbibe the beauty and wisdom of Sufi poetry and stories
  • Investigate the purpose of our mortal lives and the opportunities they contain
  • Learn simple meditation and breathing techniques for daily practice
