The Washington Saxophone Quartet
Event Information
About this event
The Washington Saxophone Quartet became the most widely heard saxophone quartet in the nation by providing musical interludes for NPR's "All Things Considered". Each of the group is an acclaimed musician, and together they have toured the country and the globe and have produced many recordings. Their wide-ranging repertoire assures that this will be a concert for listeners of every age and background. Listeners are amazed at the sounds that a virtuoso saxophonist group can produce, from the refined sounds of a string quartet or rich harmonies of an organ prelude to the excitement of a jazz sax section. The group performs music from virtually all periods--renaissance to contemporary. Tenor saxophonist Rich Kleinfeldt also announces for Classical WETA-FM radio in Washington, DC. Sponsored by Jack Ferguson of Berkshire Hathaway Penfed Realty.
This event is supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts which receives support from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency.
