Description

The War of 1812 and the Champlain Valley: A lecture and book signing with Willard Sterne Randall

A 19th century cannon in Burlington’s Battery Park commemorates an historic battle in the War of 1812. But what was that war really about? Come hear fresh insights with noted author and historian Willard Sterne Randall as he explores the history, context, and implications of the War of 1812, establishing it as a continuation of the young nation’s fierce struggle for economic independence and free trade.

Historian, author, storyteller, and Champlain College professor Willard Sterne Randall is the author of six full-length biographies, among other books. He will be available to sign copies of his newest book, Unshackling America: How the War of 1812 Truly Ended the American Revolution, and will have copies available for sale.
