Lecture & Panel Discussion Series
Renowned writers, thinkers and teachers gather to discuss the life and legacy of Walker Percy and related writers during Saturday lectures & panel discussions. Morning and afternoon sessions in historic buildings around St. Francisville. For information on panel topics and presenters visit www.walkerpercyweekend.org. Individual tickets will only be sold if we are not sold out of all-inclusive tickets. $25

Lost in the Churchyard
An elegant Friday evening reception staged in the historic Grace Episcopal churchyard. Enjoy food and drinks under the live oaks. Featuring delicious food provided by Cuisine Louisiane. 6:30 pm–9:30 pm at 11621 Ferdinand Street. $75

Progressive Front Porch Tour & Bourbon Tasting
Inspired by Percy's famous essay, "Bourbon, Neat," a progressive front porch walking tour visiting four porches around St. Francisville's Historic District. With summer-weight bourbon-based refreshments served at each stop and a premium tasting tent. 5:30 pm–7:30 pm Saturday. $65

Crawfish & Craft Beer Feast
Crawfish and Craft Beer: An authentic Louisiana crawfish boil including cash bar with a selection of local craft beers, presented by Chef Cody Carroll of Hot Tails Restaurant in New Roads. With live music by the Delta Drifters. 7:30 pm–10:30 pm in St. Francisville's Parker Park. $35

Event Details

Good food, craft beer and bourbon, live music, and a great time talking about books and Southern culture under the live oaks: That's what the third annual Walker Percy Weekend has to offer when it returns to celebrate the acclaimed novelist's life and work, June 2—4 in St. Francisville.

Schedule Highlights

• A Friday evening "Lost in the Churchyard" reception and cocktail party staged in the beautiful, historic churchyard at Grace Episcopal Church. $75 includes music under the oaks, wine and beer, and fine hors d'oeuvres crafted by Chef James "Tiger" Grace of Cuisine Louisiane. Heirloom Cuisine. 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In the event of rain, it will be held in Jackson Hall at Grace Episcopal Church.

• A Saturday series of Lectures and Panel Discussions on themes explored in Percy's books including discussions on Suffering and Self-Discovery in Love in the Ruins, Walker Percy and the Burden of History, Walker Percy and the Benedict Options, and discussions about Flannery O'Connor and the Religions of Me, Myself, and I. Events held at historic district locations including the Old Courthouse and newly restored Temple Sinai at Grace Episcopal Church. $25 ticket good for admission to all panels.

 • A Saturday-afternoon Progressive Front-Porch Tour and Bourbon Tasting with readings, inspired by Percy's essay on Bourbon. 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Stroll with bourbon in hand between serveral porches in St. Francisville's historic district. This year's event also includes premium tastings in the Premium Tasting Tent. Must be 21 or over to attend. $65

• Saturday evening: Crawfish and Craft Beer: Back by popular demand: The authentic Louisiana crawfish boil including cash bar with selection of local craft beers, presented by Chefs Cody and Samantha Carroll of Hot Tails Restaurant in New Roads and Sac-a-Lait restaurant in New Orleans with live music. 7:30 pm–10:30 pm on Prosperty Street. $35. In the event of rain, Crawfish and Craft Beer will be held at the St. Francisville Sports Park.

Registration & Tickets

Registration will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Conundrum Bookstore, located at 11917 Ferdinand Street.

Access All Areas: An all-inclusive ticket is available for $195. For early birds (before April 15th), please select a t-shirt size and you will get a free Walker Percy Weekend t-shirt at registration.

Social Tickets: Tickets to all social events including Friday night cocktail party and dinner, Bourbon Tour, and Crawfish and Craft Beer events.  No panels included.

Individual Tickets: Tickets to individual panel discussions, the Twilight in the Ruins cocktail party, Bourbon Tour, and Crawfish and Craft Beer events will be available after April 15. Space is limited. In the past, tickets sold out weeks in advance. Arrive early to panel discussions to ensure a seat and sign up at event check-in for guided tours.

No refunds will be issued after May 20th, 2017.
