About the Director: Yasmine Marie Jahanmir is a scholar, director, and synchronized swimmer. She is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her wide-ranging academic work—on sport and performance, Middle Eastern popular theatre, and performance pedagogy—is rooted at the intersection of theater history, performance theory, and gender studies. As a director, she is passionate about collaborating to create playful, audacious, and colorful theatre that inspires and provokes. She has directed theater and short film projects in New York City, California, Arizona, Kuwait, and Nevada.
