Throughout his two-and-a-half-decade recording career, Jeffrey Gaines has maintained an impressive standard for soul-searching, introspective lyrics and catchy, uplifting melodies. Since bursting on the scene with his self-titled 1992 debut album, the charismatic singer-songwriter-guitarist has built a beloved body of recordings that’s won him a large and deeply devoted international fan base.

Now, with a quarter-century of recording and performing under his belt, Jeffrey Gaines is enjoying life and music more than ever. HIs latest album "Alright“ was recently released. "Nowadays, I know what the job is about, so there’s nothing to stress about," he says. “I know that there’s people out there who want it, so I have the opportunity to extend their experience, and I’m thankful for that. Even though there’s a long gap between "Toward the Sun" (2003) and "Alright", this one continues that story and that sound. I guess I could lay my albums all out and see that they tell a story, but personally I prefer to keep looking forward.”

About The Series

Since 1902, the Washington Square Hotel (formerly “The Earle”) has been a haven for writers, artists, and musicians. Take a minute and let these names sink in: Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Bo Diddley, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, Ernest Hemingway and Dylan Thomas. Yes, all of these greats—and more—have been guests at this iconic Greenwich Village landmark.

Washington Square Hotel is building upon its rich history by presenting a monthly salon series. 'Village Nights' will be curated and hosted by Greenwich Village musician, producer, author, legendary frontman for The Bongos, and longtime Villager, Richard Barone.

“Greenwich Village’s longstanding legacy as a center of cultural revolution and a haven for self-expression has always been best expressed through its nightlife. This freewheeling musical salon series celebrates the Village’s folk, jazz, and spoken-word heritage in a uniquely historic setting and offers a great night out!” says Barone.

• Show times are at 6:30 p.m. in the hotel’s North Square Lounge. Doors open at 6pm.
