4thU Artivist's 10th Anniversary Spring 2019 production, The Vagina Monologues, will benefit organizations working to end violence against women. The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than sixteen years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.

Net proceeds of “The Vagina Monologues will go to support the work of Sakhi, Safe Horizon and VDay’s Spotlight Campaign: Women in Prison, Detention Centers, and Formerly Incarcerated Women. Sakhi for South Asian Women unites survivors, communities, and institutions to eradicate domestic violence using an integrated approach that combines support and empowerment through service delivery, community engagement, advocacy, & policy initiativess. Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim assistance organization. Their mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. V-Day is a global movement of grassroots activists dedicated to generating broader attention and funds to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sex slavery. It was founded by Eve Ensler, our original collaborator.

Doors open at 6:30pm for a Pre-Show Party with food, wine, cocktails, and a silent auction. The shows will take place in the sanctuary of the Fourth Universalist Society, at 160 Central Park West.
