On Friday February 3, 2017 the V-Day organization is throwing a community based show of an episodic play written by Eve Ensler called "The Vagina Monologues" hosted at the William Way LGBT Community Center in Philadelphia, PA. The event will include a performance of the show, a bake sale, and raffle.
Proceeds from this event will be benefiting Women in Transition. Women in Transition provides empowerment counseling, referrals and advocacy to women in Philadelphia who are endangered by domestic violence and/or substance abuse. They offer crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and needs assessments.. Help is provided to women who are using alcohol or other drugs; women calling with issues of domestic violence and substance abuse; women being battered by their same-sex partners; and callers with general issues such as relationship difficulties, surviving sexual assault or child abuse, depression; or job problems such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
