Event description

Description

Hildegard of Bingen has been identified as the patron saint of creativity and her creative charism is captured beautifully in Michael Conti's film, The Unruly Mystic: Saint Hildegard. We are very excited to welcome film producer Michael Conti and Heather Boyle, traveling from Boulder, Colorado, to the Hildegard Haus in Fairport Harbor on Sunday, September 22nd to screen this exceptional film followed by a filmmaker talkback and a Hildegard themed feast. It is sure to be a unique, spirit-filled and sold-out event!

Included in the discussion will be highlights from our summer pilgrimage on the Hildegard Trail in Germany with the Scivias Institute. Cost is $30 and includes film admission and the meal. There are limited tickets for just the movie at $10.00. We will be screening the movie before the feast to keep the conversation going. DVDs and other items will also be available for sale.

Pre-registration for the event is necessary. Tickets are available below.

Discover why The Unruly Mystic: Saint Hildegard is considered to be the patron saint of creativity, and about her continued impact today. This 12th-century abbess became famous as a Christian Mystic and visionary, as well as a musical composer and writer, and whose natural medicine is still practiced in Europe today. Saint Hildegard is venerated around the world for her widely recognized impact on today’s theologians, artists, musicians, the medical profession, and educators. The film is an homage to her, but is also a call to all of us, to listen, to still ourselves and to heed the call of our souls and whatever unruly messages exist within. The filmmaker, Michael M. Conti, traveled internationally to capture many of the stories you will see in this beautifully visual, memorable and inspiring film. The film evokes a calling: that sweet spot of creativity that we all yearn to discover and utilize, an inherent desire, which is also deeply spiritual in nature.
