1st Annual University of Iowa Parkinson's Patient Symposium, in Partnership with the Parkinson's Foundation

About this Event

The University of Iowa, in partnership with the Parkinson’s Foundation, presents a free educational event for patients with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers. The University of Iowa is one of 48 medical centers (including 34 in the United States) around the world designated as a "Center of Excellence" by the Parkinson’s Foundation. Experts from the Movement Disorders Division in the Neurology Department at the University of Iowa Health Care will discuss:

  • The latest developments in medical and surgical treatments
  • Advances in genetics and research strategies toward finding a cure
  • Effects of Parkinson’s disease on cognition, psychology, body functions, and driving

A continental breakfast and mid-morning snack will be served

Space is limited. To allow for as many attendees as possible, please register only one patient and one caregiver. If you require additional assistance and would like to bring more than one family member/care giver, please contact Cara at 319-467-2907 or email cara-iyengar@uiowa.edu.

The registration deadline is April 1, advance registration is required.

Hotel Accommodations:

A block of rooms is reserved at the Radisson Hotel for the special rate of $74. To book a room call 319-351-5049 and ask for a room in the UIHC Department of Neurology block or book online. Rooms will release for general sale on 3/20/20.
