The UN Association-USA: A Little Known History of Advocacy and Action
Book Launch: The UN Association-USA: A Little Known History of Advocacy and Action
Come hear the story of 70 years of dedicated advocacy for the United Nations by American civic leaders, policy experts, diplomats, and UNA-USA leaders and members across the country. Author James Wurst, with contributors Dulcie Leimbach, Ed Elmendorf and Jeff Laurenti, will bring to life the work of the early movement under Eleanor Roosevelt and present the actions and impact of thousands of UNA-USA members and their chapters nationwide through the present day.
The United Nations Association has influenced both the UN and the US-UN relationship far greater than its size would suggest. The actions of UNA members and chapters (two of which will be present) will be featured, including UNA-USA policy studies, human rights programs, education and advocacy activities.
Learn more about the UNA's grassroots movement and its national and international impact, as well as meet members from our local UNA Midpeninsula and Silicon Valley chapters.
