Coming to Melbourne for the third time, The Ultimate Evidence-Based Conference 2021.

This three-day conference, from Friday 25th til Sunday 27th of June 2021, will be held at one of Australia's premium facilities, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) and is sure to blow your mind. Our presenters are sill being confirmed, but we assure you the calibre of presenters will be unparalleled.


MEET OUR PRESENTERS

  1. JACKSON PEOS is an accredited sports nutritionist, currently completing his PhD at the School of Human Sciences at the University of Western Australia where he has completed a BSc (Hons) in Sports Science, and Exercise & Health. Jackson's research focuses on novel diet strategies for maximising performance and muscle retention while reducing body fat. He has also directed the largest athlete weight loss trial in Australia, and the first randomised controlled trial investigating diet breaks in weight trained athletes.
  2. ERIC HELMS, PhD, CSCS is a nutrition, sport science, and exercise/sport psychology researcher/practitioner with a mission to support the lifting community. He is co-founder and chief science officer for Team 3D Muscle Journey, chief author of the Muscle and Strength Pyramid books, co-founder and contributor to the Monthly Applications in Strength Sport research review, co-host of Iron Culture Podcast, and a Strength & Conditioning Research Fellow in the Sports Performance Research Institute New Zealand, at the Auckland University of Technology. He’s coached 100’s of recreational and competitive physique and strength athletes from novice to world champion, published scores of peer-reviewed articles on strength and conditioning, psychology and nutrition as they relate to physique and strength sports, and authored book chapters for strength and conditioning, nutrition, and personal training professionals. In his personal life, Eric is a multi-sport lifter, earning a professional qualification in drug free bodybuilding with the PNBA, and competing in powerlifting, weightlifting, and strongman.
  3. GAB FUNDARO, PhD, CISSN, CHC, is a Renaissance Periodization consultant, Monash low-FODMAP certified and ISSN-certified sport nutritionist, and ACE-certified health coach. Dr. Fundaro combines her knowledge of nutrition and motivational interviewing techniques to promote intrinsic motivation and behavior change in clients to facilitate long-term weight management and healthy lifestyles. She believes in the importance of a plant-centric diet in addition to regular, enjoyable physical activity and cognitive exercises as part of a sustainable lifestyle free from the chronic dieting mindset. When working with individuals experiencing gastric distress, Dr. Fundaro applies a practical, personalized, and evidence-based approach to modify diet and lifestyle factors which can contribute to improved digestive comfort. She has taught a variety of courses related to nutrition for performance and health, physiology, and macronutrient metabolism. In addition to her teaching experience, she has enjoyed the opportunity to share evidence-based recommendations in international seminars, podcasts, and contributions to magazines such as Shape and Oxygen. Dr. Fundaro is a former Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at Georgia Gwinnett College and holds a PhD in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech as well as a BS in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education from Radford University. She is currently completing requirements towards the Registered Dietitian credential as a participant in the Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway of the Dietetic Internship Program of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with her dogs, and training for powerlifting.
  4. MEL DAVIS holds a PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior and is a consultant for Renaissance Periodization. She has 10 years of research experience studying somatosensory based disease intervention, cortical plasticity, and brain development at UC Irvine. Her work has been featured in Scientific American, published in high impact, peer reviewed journals, and recognized by faculty of 1000. Melissa has earned awards for teaching, scholarship, and excellence in research. She has also been involved in science outreach activities for over a decade. Melissa is currently a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Giva Santana at One Jiu Jitsu in Irvine, CA. She is a repeat IBJJF Master World Champion and has also represented the United States for her division in the international Abu Dhabi World Pro Competition twice. She is currently a scientific consultant at Renaissance Periodization, where she writes and edits books, develops nutrition and athletic training products, and coaches athletes and hobbyists in their fitness pursuits.
  5. LAURIN CONLIN is an IFBB Pro Bikini Competitor, holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Exercise Science, and is the owner of Team LoCoFit. Her coaching team at LoCoFit helps clients achieve competitive success while focusing on long-term health interests through a scientific, evidence-based approach. Laurin's mission is to redefine healthy within the fitness industry! Conlin lectures internationally on topics including nutrition, training, psychological aspects of dieting, and fitness entrepreneurship.
  6. JAKE LINARDON received his PhD in 2017 and is currently an early career Research Fellow at Deakin University, Melbourne Australia. His research centres around evaluating, implementing, and disseminating a broad range of treatment and prevention approaches for eating disorders. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed research articles, many of which have been published in world-leading psychiatry and clinical psychology journals. He also serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Eating Disorders. He is the founder of @breakbingeeating, an open access website designed to provide free evidence-based information and self-help strategies for people with eating and body image issues.
  7. BRAD SCHOENFELD, PhD, CSCS, CSPS, FNSCA, is an associate professor of exercise science at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York, where he serves as the graduate program director and heads the human performance laboratory. He also currently serves as Sports Nutritionist for the New Jersey Devils hockey organization. Brad has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers on various exercise- and sports nutrition-related topics, and authored the seminal textbook, "Science and Development of Muscle Hypertrophy." He was the recipient of the 2016 Dwight D. Eisenhower Fitness Award, presented by the United States Sports Academy for outstanding achievement in fitness and contributions to the growth and development of sport fitness through outstanding leadership activity, as well as earning the 2018 National Strength and Conditioning Association Young Investigator of the Year Award.
  8. LUKE TULLOCH has been a personal trainer in Sydney, Australia for 13 years. In between training clients he also attended university to study neuroscience, started an online education business and delivered in-person seminars around Australia. Luke's focus is on being an intermediary between scientific research, coaches and the average gym-goer. A lot of his content has been developed over several years from the 1-on-1 mentorships he has done with trainers and coaches. So, while unable to fly around Australia or overseas to help everyone face-to-face, the online material is a way Luke can still help trainers anywhere who want to learn aspects of training, lifestyle and nutrition that are actually important. He does this through social media, online coaching, his Fitness Fundamentals membership site, and the more intensive Science of Fitness course.
  9. GREG NUCKOLS lifts weights, writes about lifting weights, and helps other people get better at lifting weights.
  10. DANNY LENNON is the founder of Sigma Nutrition, a company providing educational content related to evidence-based nutrition. Danny is perhaps most well-known for being the host the top-ranked podcast, Sigma Nutrition Radio. Danny has a MSc. in nutritional sciences from University College Cork, in addition to an undergraduate degree in biology and physics. Danny uses his scientific background to read and interpret the latest nutrition research, before communicating the key points to his audience. In addition to his science background, Danny has also worked as a nutrition practitioner for several years. He has presented internationally at conferences and seminars in Europe, Australia and the United States.
  11. JACOB SCHEPIS is the co-owner of JPS Health & Fitness. For the past 10 years he has actively worked in the industry, where he has helped thousands of individuals improve their strength, body composition and well-being through evidence-based resistance training and nutrition. Taking a scientific based approach to training and diet has enabled Jacob to excel in a variety of sports, including playing VFL, bodybuilding and powerlifting, where he has won multiple state and international titles. Jacobs in the trenches experience as a coach and practitioner has led him to become an educator and mentor of aspiring coaches and fitness enthusiasts, through hosting and contributing to workshops and seminars and the creation of the JPS Online Mentorship course. Having worked in the industry for over 8 years, Jacob’s wealth of knowledge coupled with his experience in the trenches has led him to become one of Melbourne’s most sought out trainers. His role has extended fate beyond working with his beloved clients, to now mentoring aspiring personal trainers, holding workshops and seminars, and writing for the nations personal training governing body, Physical Activity Australia. His motto is simple, whatever the mind can conceive, can be achieved.
  12. ERIC TREXLER, (PhD, CSCS*D, CISSN), is a pro natural bodybuilder and a sports nutrition researcher. Eric has a PhD in Human Movement Science from UNC Chapel Hill and has published dozens of peer-reviewed research papers on various exercise and nutrition strategies for getting bigger, stronger, and leaner. In addition, Eric has several years of University-level teaching experience and has been coaching athletes with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience levels since 2009. Eric is now the Director of Education at Stronger By Science, and a reviewer for Monthly Applications in Strength Sport (MASS).

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? We ask that all attendee's bring a copy of their EventBrite ticket and Photo ID on each day of the event.

What can I bring into the event? We encourage all attendee's to bring something to write on or take notes with, i.e. pens, laptop (and charger), so you can get the most out of each of the informative presentations. Food and drinks will be provided on Days 1 and 2 of the event at MCEC, and Day 3 will have food and drink available for purchase. Please feel free to bring water and food on Day 3 at JPS Health & Fitness, however no external food or drink is permitted at MCEC for health and safety purposes. If you are attending the Day 3 VIP Dinner then please ensure you dress appropriately, neat casual is more than sufficient.

What's the refund policy? Due to the nature of this event and the limited tickets available, we are not in a position to offer any refunds. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding this. If you purchase a ticket and are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer the ticket to another individual. To do so, please let us know and provide the incoming attendee's contact details so we can transfer the ticket accordingly.

COVID-19 Refund Policy - In light of Coronavirus and our recent notification to all ticket holders about the date change of the UEBC, ticket holders will be afforded the opportunity to request a refund of their ticket up until June 1st 2020. Thereafter they will be deemed to have accepted the credit for the UEBC 2021 and no refund will be eligible per our original refund policy.
