Assessing learning outcomes, student engagement, learning preferences, accessibility requirements, mobile devices and academic integrity are just a few of the challenges faced in today’s physical and virtual learning environments. What technologies should we adopt and how do we appropriately use them to meet and embrace these challenges without the technology itself being a barrier or challenge?
Join us for the fifth annual UA System Scholars Institute, hosted at UAB, as we address these challenges and how the application of technologies can have a positive impact on effective teaching and successful learning. As we continue the institute’s mission to foster the growth, depth of knowledge and application of the benefits of instructional technology, day one will focus on presentations that have an emphasis on quality, evidence of impact, tools, and pedagogical and practical approaches, with time for collaboration and knowledge sharing at the evening event. Day two will provide hands-on opportunities where you can practice using the tools, learn how to implement the tools or how to help build a community of learners in class or online.
New for this year - join us on the web live for day one. While the onsite event is open only to UA System faculty and staff, the day one keynote and several concurrent sessions will be broadcast via the web and open to all. Additionally, several of our education/corporate partners will be holding presentations as part of the concurrent session schedule.
