Mat Brunton: Randoism Saves- Ski Alpinism in Chugach State Park
Join TapRoot in presenting The Trip Report. This month, Anchorage skier and mountain adventurer, Mat Brunton, gives his presentation Randoism Saves: Ski Alpinism in Chugach State Park
While powder snobs scoff at skiing the "Front Range" and Chugach State Park, these mountains offer soul salvation for an eccentric few. Although frequently bombarded by wind and typically receiving less snowfall than Hatcher or Turnagain, Chugach State Park offers the biggest and steepest lines with a snowpack often more stable for extreme skiing. Join the grassroots and volunteer Anchorage Avalanche Center founder, Mat Brunton, for an evening of “FRange Love” as we explore ski alpinism in the Anchorage community’s public backyard.
