The Tree, The Sun, and The Goddess: Symbolic Language in Ukrainian Folk Embroidery

A special after-hours tour of "Village Wardrobes: Traditional Dress from Western and Central Ukraine"

Led by TMORA Docent, Marie Grubisich.

Please join us for a guided tour of this remarkable collection of late 19th to mid 20th century folk costumes from central and western Ukraine. Each of these garments was meticulously handcrafted by women and embroidered with powerful symbols handed down from mother to daughter across generations. This tour will highlight the pre Christian beliefs behind the embroidered language and the critical role of wardrobe in traditional village life.

Refreshments and light appetizers will be available for your enjoyment.

Space is limited. Advanced registration is encouraged.

Doors will open at 6:00pm | Tour begins at 6:30pm

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
