Event description

Description

Intrigued by the discovery of a blue-eyed girl from North Africa who died in 3rd century Roman London aged 14, children's author Caroline Lawrence wrote a time travel novel in which a 12-year-old schoolboy is sent back to find out more about her.

While doing research, Caroline discovered that London began life as a multi-cultural mercantile centre full of people from all over the Roman Empire.

Hear more about her research, her revelations and her book in an illustrated talk.

The talk will be preceded by the Annual General Meeting of IBBY UK. Non-members are welcome to attend the AGM or to arrive at 6.45pm.

Programme:

6.00pm IBBY UK AGM
