We have an exciting lineup of authors for the Third Annual Celebration of Diverse Literary Voices of Texas sponsored by KAZI Book Review, hosted and cosponsored by Austin Central Library, with support from the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.

Highlighted authors include Pulitzer Prize winner Leonard Pitts, Jr., who is publishing a new black historical novel on February 12, THE LAST THING YOU SURRENDER, Monica Muñoz Martinez, author of THE INJUSTICE NEVER LEAVES YOU: Anti-Mexican Violence in the Texas Borderlands, Carol Anderson, author of ONE PERSON, ONE VOTE: How Voter Suppression Is Destroying Our Democracy, and Jennifer Baker, editor of EVERYDAY PEOPLE: The Color of Life-A Short Story Anthology.

Also, authors Carrie Fountain, ire’ne lara silva, and Jasminne Méndez wll be on panel From Roots to Bloom: Deconstructing Latinidad moderated by author Natalia Sylvester, dramatic readings from a Texas author’s book directed by playwright Jeanette Hill, and an author panel discussion on navigating truth in digital news.
