Welcome to Basil Port of Call Buffalo! Join us and witness a spectacular fleet of tall ships racing through the Great Lakes and making their first ever port appearance in Buffalo. Experience a weekend of family fun, filled with live entertainment, historical exhibits, food and beverages, and much more.


Thursday, July 4: 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (No tall ship boarding)

Friday, July 5: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Ship boarding 11am - 5pm)

Saturday, July 6: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.(Ship boarding 11am - 5pm)

Sunday, July 7: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Ship boarding 11am - 5pm)

Basil Port of Call Buffalo is free and open to the public and includes the Parade of Sail, family entertainment, maritime music and all other festival activities and services. To board any or all of the tall ships, a POCB Passport is required and allows the visitor to board as many separate ships as possible in one day, with one boarding per ship, for the specific day that the POCB Passport is redeemed.

Passport Vouchers cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 11 years of age and under and can be purchased for July 5, 6 and 7, 2019.

***A limited number of ADULT VIP PASSPORT VOUCHERS are on sale for $125 each, and allow for unlimited and expedited tall ships boarding all weekend, preferred parking, entry to the Wegmans hospitality lounge and complimentary refreshments. HURRY!...AVAILABILITY IS LIMITED***

Passport Vouchers purchased online must be redeemed for POCB Passports at Info Centers throughout the festival site and visitors will receive a dated wristband and hand stamp for the day the Passport Voucher is redeemed.


Due to ship capacity, the ability of a POCB Passport holder to board all ships in one day may be limited. SOFT SOLE SHOES ONLY, NO HIGH HEELS. Organizing committee will use its best efforts to ensure the tall ships fleet appears as scheduled. All sales are final. Sorry, no refunds. Event will be held rain or shine.



• What do I need to purchase to access the festival?

Basil Port of Call is free and open to the public including all festival activities and services. To board and tour the visiting tall ships, guests must purchase a POCB Passport.

• What if I’m not able to board all the tall ships in one day… can I return to the festival a second (or third) day to tour the other ships?

Yes. Bring your POCB Passport to any Info Center at the festival site, and purchase a dated wristband for ship boarding on that day. ($20 for adults, $10 for children 11 and under).

• What are my transportation/ parking options getting to the event?

We strongly recommend using NFTA Metro Rail and various parking and shuttle options being planned for your convenience. Visit PortOfCallBuffalo.org SCHEDULE OF EVENTS page for details before you go.

• What can/can't I bring to the event?

Festival grounds are exposed to the elements and have limited areas of shade/cover from the sun, so sunscreen is recommended. Absolutely no weapons, coolers, alcohol or illegal substances are allowed within the festival grounds. All backpacks, purses and bags will be searched by festival security at admission gates.

• What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. POCB Passports are not refundable.

• What if I lose my Passport Voucher or my POCB Passport?

Sorry, we cannot issue replacements. Protect these valuable documents the way you would protect cash.
