Event description

Description

Over the course of U.S. history, the Senate has confirmed 124 of the 161 Supreme Court nominations made. The current effort to name and confirm a justice to fill a Supreme Court opening has now covered parts of two Supreme Court terms and constitutes the longest resolution of a nomination in our history. Let's look at a past election and a past nomination to try to discern just how much one nomination really matters. If the current nominee is confirmed, how will it likely affect the court?
