After four sellout shows in Toronto, two shows in St. Catherine Callingwood, the Sunglasses Monologue returns to illuminate the Chinese (Cantonese) speaking audience. A decade in the making, this living memoir was birthed in response to endless questions Vivian received from a curious public while going about her daily life. Original music helps to transport us through remarkable scenes conveying the courage and joy at the heart of Vivian’s journey. How does one overcome betrayal, multiple losses? Through quirky humour and wisdom, we see how creativity can be unfurled to resurrect a vulnerable self and life.

This is a play about being seen...

After waking up from a coma, all she knew how to do was push buttons...

"Vivian takes you on a dynamic journey of heartfelt surprise, leaving you to marvel at the tenderness and fortitude of the human spirit." - Barbara Young

"[C]ourageous and inspiring. You pushed our emotions every which way, and left us wanting more! Bravo!" - Shirley Yanover

"[M]arvelous!" - Adrien Alexander Benson

"[I]ncredible. She's going to make it big!" - Moneesha Mehta

"The Sunglasses Monologue takes you on a journey. It presents the perspective of a woman confronted with life changing events. An evolution of spirit is witnessed as she recalls the events of her childhood and adult life. The story is interspersed with songs which provide a further layer of insight and hopefulness. The thoughtful approach left me with a feeling of optimism, reminding me that a positive attitude can persist in the face of life's ongoing challenges." - Jack Wiktor
