The Summit on Race in America
Event Information
Description
From April 8-10, 2019, the LBJ Foundation will host The Summit on Race in America. Civil rights icons will be joined by esteemed leaders, activists, musicians, comedians, and others for open, candid discussions on the failures, progress, and challenges our country faces on race today.
While no exploration of the complex issue of race can be definitive or complete, we hope that in bringing together a myriad of voices, The Summit on Race in America will promote a deeper understanding of the challenges our country faces. In doing so, we also aim not only to strengthen our resolve for meaningful change but to foster greater unity among all Americans.
Attend
Attendance to the summit is free. Tickets are required for attendance, however, a ticket does not guarantee you a seat. Seating is first-come, first-served.
We will have a standby line for each ticketed session. Any empty seats in the auditorium before or during programming will be filled by the standby line. All those in the standby line must have tickets.
Note: If you're a student at The University of Texas at Austin, please sign up for a ticket on HornsLink. Huston-Tillotson University, St. Edward's University, and Austin Community College students, tickets will be managed by your respective school. Visit our summit ticketing page for more details.
If you're unable to secure a ticket, we will have a waitlist line for each session. This line will begin outside on the west side of The Briscoe Center for American History, located directly south of the LBJ School of Public Affairs. Please note: People will be selected out of the waitlist line only after all those from our standby line of ticketholders have been accommodated. We cannot guarantee entrance for any session.
