Description

The Strong Child Project - The Protectors Anti-Bullying Seminar

We are very excited to announce that we will be holding an anti-bullying seminar on Tuesday, September 17. The seminar is titled The Strong Child Project, and it is a faith based approach led by Paul Coughlin of The Protectors ( https://theprotectors.org/) to address bullying. The seminar will include an evening session for parents and interested adults in the community.

6:45-8:45 PM Parent/Community Session

This is a free event, but we will ask those coming to sign up via Eventbrite, so that we have an idea of how many to expect.

Topics for Evening Parent/Community Session:

  • The many myths and misconceptions about adolescent bullying
  • What works and doesn’t work to change the “Theater of Bullying”
  • How bullying is a cultural problem, not just a school problem
  • How parents are as important as teachers in this battle to defend the dignity, value, and worth of all children regardless of distinction
  • How family values must be amended in order to reduce bullying
  • How spiritual courage is the missing piece in the anti-bullying puzzle
  • Why bystanders becoming Protectors is essential in winning the battle against the leading form of child abuse in the nation
  • Why bullying is a “portal moment” that changes our children for good or for bad
  • How to help your child appear less attractive to a bully now and into adulthood
  • How to help your child not become a bully or stop being a bully
  • How our faith requires us to stand up for others, like targets of bullying, who desperately need our intervention
