Join AIER’s Bastiat Society program in Charleston for an event with Wendy Damron, President & CEO of Palmetto Promise Institute.
Wendy will share the latest news from Columbia regarding the status of key legislation as well as important issues that have yet to be addressed by the General Assembly. Where are we compared to other states? What have we gotten right? What do we need to do better? She will also share what each citizen can do to make sure South Carolina lives up to its potential for liberty.

Wendy Damron is the President & CEO of Palmetto Promise Institute. Founded by Senator Jim Demint in 2013, PPI is the premier conservative thinktank in South Carolina. Palmetto Promise’s mission is to promote conservative solutions that advance freedom in South Carolina.
Wendy Damron is a CPA and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1996. She started her career at Ernst & Young LLP as a CPA in both the Detroit and Baltimore offices, where she practiced in all aspects of tax with a concentration on the areas of high net‐worth individuals, corporate and non‐profit compliance. In 2000, Wendy became a self‐employed tax professional. She continues her tax practice with pro‐bono work.
Wendy also served as the state director for Convention of States, a.k.a. Citizens for Self-Governance, a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging citizens to actively engage with their state legislatures to make an impact on policy. The efforts of this state team resulted in the successful passage of legislation in South Carolina. During her time with this organization, Wendy has traveled the state to speak to groups about self-governance.
