About Our Speaker:
Constance Hunter is the Chief Economist for KPMG LLP. She is a recognized economic thought leader focusing on the global economy and how economic factors impact asset prices and business performance worldwide. In her role at KPMG, Constance works closely with the firm’s leadership and clients to identify inflection points, risks and opportunities that arise in the constantly evolving economic landscape. Constance can be followed on twitter at @constancehunter.
Known for correctly calling economic indicators that presage market turning points such as the Russian currency devaluation in 1998, the dotcom bubble in 2001, the real estate and credit crisis in 2007-08, the recovery of the housing market and concurrent low bond yields in 2012 and the continued low bond yields into 2015, she uses these insights to help KPMG and its clients get ahead of events and mitigate risks. Recent hashtags that signify some her economic calls include the 2012 use of #rateslowforlongtime, the 2014 use of #ChinaMeetsGravity and the summer 2015 introduction of #MindTheLag. Constance has over twenty years of investment experience across all main asset classes, including seven as Chief Investment Officer and seven as Chief Economist.
Constance is a regular speaker at conferences around the world on a wide variety of macroeconomic topics. She is also a frequent guest and co-host on all major financial media channels including CNBC, Bloomberg, PBS Nightly Business and Fox Business as well as Bloomberg Radio.
She is a regular participant in the National Committee for US-China Relations Track II Economic Dialogs between leading Chinese and US economists.
Constance is a past Board Member of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), a current Board Member of the NABE Foundation, a member of The New York Association for Business Economics, Money Marketeers, Women’s Bond Club and of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
