Event description

Description

The Arts Partnership invites you to The State of the Arts. Loosely modeled after The State of the Cities and other annual events of this nature, Dayna Del Val, president & CEO of TAP, will highlight the arts successes of the past year and also look ahead to organizational and community-wide arts goals for the upcoming fiscal year. Jodi Duncan, president of Flint Group, will be the keynote speaker discussing why the arts are so important for businesses to invest in, internally and externally.

A light breakfast will be served and an artistic performance is TBD. City Arts Partnership grants will be awarded. Additionally, we will be honoring these organizations and individuals:

  • Gate City Bank, Outstanding Business in the Arts
  • West Acres, Outstanding Arts Collaborator
  • Emily WIlliams-Wheeler, Outstanding Artist
  • Mayor Del Rae Williams, Outstanding Advocate for the Arts

It is well known that employees today have significant options for choosing where to live and work, and communities of our size, geography and location must provide the quality of life amenities that make moving here attractive. A major piece of that is the arts and culture, including the performing arts, independent artists, craft breweries, locally owned restaurants and entrepreneurial shops. The State of the Arts is the annual event celebrating the power of the arts in our community.

This event is generously sponsored by Bell Bank.
