The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Forum is to create a platform for strategic engagement between role players involved in entrepreneurial development. In accordance, a series of engagements between the private and public sectors involved in entrepreneurship development are hosted with the aim of facilitating the sharing of experiences, successes, and lessons learned, in pursuit of accelerating entrepreneurial development.
As we begin the new year, we would like to explore the state of entrepreneurship in South Africa. According to a report on Entrepreneurship by the Gordons Institute for Business Science (GIBS), South Africa’s entrepreneurial activity is improving however it still lags behind when compared to other countries.
Discussions will seek to present an overview of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem; map out support offered as well as opportunities to address gaps that exist in terms providing extensive and relevant support to aspirant and existing entrepreneurs in order to enable South African youth to take their place in the economies of the 21st Century.
