Event description
Short format Documentary telling the personal story of three Michigan designers who have chosen to make their mark in the Mitten State.

About this Event

Michigan is full of world class designers who have chosen to live and work here. Not only do they support their businesses and improve Michigan’s economy, they improve the lives of all Michigan citizens through their proactive community involvement. We need to tell their stories.

The individuals chosen for this film have demonstrated a commitment to their profession, but also to bettering their communities by giving untold hours mentoring our youth, inspiring young professionals, and volunteering to keep our rich state history alive.

The film features three design talents; Professor and Chair of Product Design at the College For Creative Studies, Vincenzo Iavicoli; Senior Industrial Designer at Sundberg-Ferar, Matt Korich; and Senior Sculptor at Rivian, Nate Facciolla.

This documentary short film is being produced by the Michigan Design Council. The vision of the MDC is to establish Michigan as THE destination for individuals in Industrial Design and related design professions, help spread awareness throughout the K-12 community about Industrial Design, help Michigan based businesses prosper, and encourage businesses to locate to Michigan by virtue of its robust industrial design talent base.
