Event description

Description

"Tracy Maxwell’s hazing prevention keynote goes deeper on the critical issues surrounding hazing. It’s not a program full of blame and simple solutions. It’s a keynote that acknowledges the clear harm and ethical 'wrongness' of hazing while acknowledging the complex perspectives that come into play. Tracy tells real stories of hazing, its harms and the impact on both hazers and their victims. But then, she goes further. She frames the issue from a variety of perspectives and motivates everyone on today’s campus to come together to move their community forward. Most importantly, she urges students and staff to take an active role and avoid being bystanders on this vital campus issue." SOURCE: campuspeak.com/maxwell

Learning Outcomes
As a result of this program, students will learn:
- how to recognize hazing in a variety of forms
- how to begin a conversation about hazing in a non-threatening way

- what they can do to help stop hazing practices

Ideally the person in your group who leads recruitment, member education, and/or member development should participate in this program.
