The Spotlight Workshops present...

Developing Your Type & Creating Your Niche

a workshop on standing out in the entertainment industry

The most powerful tool you have as an actor is YOU. In this workshop you’ll learn how to be yourself in every aspect of the business and yet thrive within the confines of this typecasting industry. Landing an agent and getting auditions starts with embracing your type and knowing how the industry sees you. But, developing your unique niche is the secret to achieving your career dreams.

In this workshop, Type & Image Expert Mark Atteberry will walk you through a series of exercises that will help you to identify your type, define your image, and create your own unique niche. You'll learn how to brand and market yourself effectively, in a way that captures the attention of the industry and ensure your career will be successful and “true to you."

Who should attend: Actors & all other creative professionals

Requirements: Pen and paper

By the end of this workshop, you’ll know how to:

  • Understand what the casting director sees the second you walk into the room;
  • Have a clear grasp of how to market yourself;
  • Know what makes you unique from every other actor; and
  • Use all that information and create your own niche.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

The good folks at the CBS Security Gate will need to see a government-issued photo ID to match with your name on the list we give them, so make sure you register here and bring your driver's license or passport with you.

What are my parking options getting to the event?

The security personnel will instruct you on where to park when you arrive. This will be based on what other things are happening on the lot that day, so make sure you arrive early enough to walk from where they have you park to MPR-6, the room we will be in that morning. You can ask the security personnel for a map of the lot when you arrive so you can find the building easily.
