The Sovereign Singers
The Sovereign Singers began in 2014 at Durham University, comprising some of the university’s best singers. The group and its members have since made London their home with many of the same original members. All of the singers juggle their performance commitments with day jobs ranging from teaching to law.
The ensemble regularly sings evensong at St Gabriel’s church in Pimlico and does multiple cathedral residencies each year. Recent highlights include Bristol Cathedral, Truro Cathedral and Exeter Cathedral. The Sovereign Singers also perform in concerts and at private events. These include a concert for the world famous bass, Thomas Allen’s 70th birthday celebrations at Durham Castle, a recent fundraising concert for Chelsea and Westminster hospital and a series of summer weddings (both during the services and the receptions)
