About this Event

***Tonight (Monday, May 31) at our candlelight vigil and meditation we will begin with a special ceremony during which everyone will have the chance to share/ speak/ bring the names of black people who have been killed through police violence as an opportunity to witness, remember and activate. If you plan on attending then please try and have a few names (do some research if you need to) and a sentence or two with the year of their death and anything around place or event that describes what happened to them. We will start the practice and the lighting of candles with this opening ceremony.

After the meditation we will have an open and honest dialogue and a focused space that for grieving and mourning. We’ll have people share poems and reflections and hold space for grieving and reflecting on tangible change.***

No matter where in the world you are... you are invited to join the online Candlelight Vigil and meditation that takes place every Monday night from 9:00pm -10:00pm EDT.

Together we will reflect on the moral, existential, psychological, and revolutionary impacts the Coronavirus is having on humanity and our species. How can we move through this pandemic with grace, love, and surrender? While asking the really hard question - what virus are we really fighting?

Each 60 minute Vigil will start with the lighting of candles (try and have a candle and lighter with you), a meditation centered in breathing techniques, and then we'll dive into the major theme for that day's Vigil. The themes are framed through social reflection, commentary, poetry, and excerpts from meaningful books.

This Vigil is donation-based and open to the entire Global Community. It will take place over the Zoom video software platform - after registration, a ticket with a link will be delivered to your inbox (didn't receive a link? Please reach out to

You can attend one Vigil session or you can attend all. All donations go to One Common Unity, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that breaks cycles of violence and builds compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education. Learn more at

In times of economic crisis, non-profits are often the first to be effected. Now, more than ever, your support is greatly needed, allowing us to shift our social-emotional learning curricula, creative arts programming, and mental health services online to serve our youth and families.
