Event description

Description

Come and join the community and local artisans for a benefit concert on National Human Trafficking Awareness day. All proceeds go to the Survivor Services Program to help survivors of human trafficking, coordinated by Second Life Tennessee (SLTN). There will be mini market happening during the concert. Local artisans and non profits are invited to be a part of the awareness event in order to bring the community into the conversation surrounding this issue. Second Life Tennessee belives in empowering others and equiping everyone to know the signs and red flags of trafficking. SLTN is a local non profit that helps survivors of human trafficking reintegrate back into society. They are known as the Single Point of Contact in the state of Tennessee. This means they are the non governmental agency selected in the lower east region to facilitate and coordinate survices in Chattanooga and the 25 surrounding counties. Their work is primairly focused on policy, prevention, and survivor services. Their prevention consists of hosting Human Trafficking 101 seminars, monthly at the Family Justice Center in Chattanooga. To learn more about this issue, and how to get involved in supporting survivors, visit SLTN at secondlifetn.org.
