Event description

Description

Homelessness is one of the most prevalent social health issues facing our nation. With over 45,000 individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles alone, many are also military veterans. Join The Soldiers Project and the Inner City Law Center as we take a walking tour of Skid Row to learn more about the history of homelessness in Los Angeles. The Soldiers Project will also be providing a training for those who are interested in becoming a part of their Street Outreach Team, a group of people who promote community engagement to decrease the stigma surrounding military mental health issues.

Schedule of events

10:00am - Meet at the Inner City Law Center for the walking tour of Skid Row. Parking is available on the street in the surrounding area.

11:30am - Break. Lunch will be provided

12:00pm - The Soldiers Project training

1:30pm - End of events

Please RSVP no later than Monday, August 7. Direct questions to Beth Olson at bolson@thesoldiersproject.org.
