NOTE THE TIME: This is a special lunchtime presentation, held from noon-1:30 p.m. You are welcome to bring your own lunch, and we'll serve coffee and light snacks.

Learn why a SIMPLE (Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees) IRA can be the most cost- and time-effective retirement plan for employers to choose for themselves and their employees.

Per the IRS, "[a] SIMPLE IRA plan provides small employers with a simplified method [emphasis added] to contribute toward their employees' and their own retirement savings. Employees may choose to make salary reduction contributions and the employer is required to make either matching or nonelective contributions."

A business structured as a sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation can set up a SIMPLE, and part-time employees can be eligible. Contributions are deductible by the business, and the plan has lower administrative costs than other options.

We'll walk through three case studies to demonstrate how the SIMPLE would work with the different employer match options.

Check with your CPA or tax advisor about whether a SIMPLE is a good fit for your business, and learn about it here from the perspective of a financial advisor who assists employers in setting up the accounts and getting their employees properly invested.

We scheduled this seminar during the day to enable business owners to attend with a key employee, if desired.


Small business owners who are considering offering a retirement savings plan to their employees with salary deferrals and an employer match, and want a plan that is low-cost and fairly simple to administer.

How many people from my business may attend?

You may reserve up to two seats when you register. Seating is limited to 30 participants for these free seminars, so we respectfully request that you register a maximum of two people associated with your business, such as yourself and your spouse, or yourself and a key employee. Employees are welcome to attend without the business owner.

Will I get a reminder email about this event?

Yes, at the email you used when registering. You will receive a confirmation email immediately, and a reminder email in the days before the event. Please share with the additional person you registered, if applicable. We recommend you add the event to your calendar.

- Is it necessary to create an Eventbrite account?

Yes, and it's easy to create your free account as part of the registration process. We use Eventbrite online registration software for your convenience and ours.

It's not necessary to LOG IN to register, but in order to verify your registration or make any changes, you will need to log in. If you've forgotten your password, follow the prompts for resetting it.

TIP: Not sure if you have an account with Eventbrite? When you type your email into the Attendee Information form, you'll either see a "Create Password" field appear below it (meaning you don't have an account), or you'll be allowed to register without being asked for your password (meaning your email is already associated with an account).

Can I edit my information after registering?

Yes, you may log onto your Eventbrite account and edit your order information on the Tickets page anytime up until the day of the event. You may update the information on your order (like name, email address, additional attendee, or answers to the organizer's questions), or you may cancel the order to free up your seat (see next FAQ).

What if I can't attend after registering?

If your plans change, and you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we may offer your seat to someone on the waiting list. You may cancel your order on the Tickets page by logging into Eventbrite (see above FAQ). Or you may contact The Business Guides directly (see next FAQ).
