Between Passover and Pentecost
Where we are in history parallels with the Jewish calendar in a profound way.
Right now we are in between Passover and Pentecost. This is the season where the Israelites were set free from Egypt, and where the disciples were taught by the resurrected Christ before He ascended into Heaven.
In each case the old was gone, and yet they couldn't quite see the new.
While the Israelites were set free from slavery, they still weren't free in the promise. And, as Jesus rose through the clouds the disciples still needed to remain in Jerusalem to wait and to pray for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit.
The correlation to today is profound. The nations of the earth are dangling in-between old foundations and the unknown. The media is flooded with news of a "reset" and all of a sudden, just like that, Judeo-Christian values are being challenged.
There is a grace for believers in this season.
There is a grace during this in-between time to tune into the voice of God like never before; to remain vigilant, stay awake, and keep guard. The Lord has a plan, and as believers we play an essential role. This is not the time to abandon hope for God is coming with His freedom movement.
