ABOUT THE ARTIST & SHOW:
The Shanty Hounds are the singer/songwriting duo of Dani Hoy and Key West Chris Rehm. They play a variety of original music and covers from many genres to entertain any crowd.
Dani Hoy plays acoustic guitar and is a top notch vocalist. Originally from Maryland, she has two CDs of original music. Her influences include Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams, Jimmy Buffet, Emmylou Harris and John Hiatt. She has been nominated for the Trop Rock Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year three years running. Also, the listeners of Beachfront Radio named her Female Trop Rocker of 2013 and her CD "Songs of Love & The Ocean" received awards as well. Dani currently lives in Key West and is playing music throughout the Keys.
Key West Chris Rehm has been a Nashville published songwriter since 2000. He's also been an invited songwriter of the Key West Songwriter's Festival, the largest songwriter's festival in the U.S. three years in a row. The invitation came from BMI Nashville. Influences include Dylan, Dead, Jobim, Allman Brothers, The Band, Zappa,... the list goes on. He has one CD released 'Shanghai'd and Marooned in Key West (things could be worse)".
The philosophy of the band is "If you're not having a good time, we're going to have to ask you to leave."
