A product of the prestigious artist development programs at the Canadian Opera Company and the Metropolitan Opera, Wallis Giunta is one of opera’s fastest rising stars, acclaimed as an extraordinary vocal and acting talent. The Canadian mezzo-soprano's “Seven Deadly Sins” recital, in which she appears as a 1930’s cabaret star performing Kurt Weill’s classic stage work and thematically associated songs and arias, has won applause from critics in Toronto and New York.
Ms. Giunta’s recital with pianist Ken Noda marks her South Florida debut and the latest installment in Friends of Chamber Music’s “Rising Stars of the Metropolitan Opera” series.
