The Selma to Montgomery March and the Trickster Archetype (Lecture)
The march from Selma to Montgomery played a seminal role in the American myth and our relationship to the archetype of democracy. We will explore the Selma marches and the unfolding of culture that happens in times of violence and chaos. The Self’s unfolding in culture is a reflection of Jung’s individuation process. The trickster archetype played a pivotal role in the marches. That archetype and the African American trickster myths will be explored in an effort to shed light on our political situation today.

Applying the Tenets of Nonviolence to Our Lives (Workshop)
The workshop will be an individual and group exploration of nonviolent tenets based on Martin Luther King’s and Gandhi’s eightfold path of nonviolence. Participants will explore Gandhi, King and Jung and their philosophical perspectives of God and the Self, as well as individuation as it relates to the nonviolent tenets. Videos and exercises will be utilized to facilitate the application of the eightfold path to our life. Bring journal or paper.
