During the September solstice weekend (Sept 24-26) the small, shadowy but powerful Toronto arts collective the Oculus Common will program a series of free outdoor events to engage park visitors, families and passers-by under the theme “See You Again”.

By holding these events under the shelter of the Oculus Pavilion, a structure designed to capture the optimistic modernist energy of Toronto’s public spaces, we hope to re-connect people through art, community, and shared green spaces after Toronto's lengthy period of lockdown.

The See You Again Arts Festival will include poetry readings, a dance performance, an interactive writing workshop, a psychogeographic nature walk outlining the history and significance of the Pavilion in Toronto, and a live concert.

ABOUT THE OCULUS PAVILION

A wonderfully curious piece in the landscape, the Oculus in South Humber Park is a fantastical space-age modernist pavilion built in Toronto’s South Humber Park in 1959. Neglected for decades, it has been restored and reinvigorated, creating more meaningful connection for park users and the neighborhood as a place for meeting and gathering. We look forward to seeing you again.
