Event description

Description

While gentrification in Greenwich Village has replaced most mom & pop shops with juice bars and avocado toast spots, there are still a handful of family-owned restaurants that are whipping up some of the neighborhood's most authentic and diverse bites, if you know where to look.

Join New York Adventure Club as we venture through the winding tree-lined streets of Greenwich Village to eat at some of the neighborhood's few remaining family-owned eateries hiding in plain sight.

Led by local neighborhood expert Marci Fine, our unique culinary experience will include:

  • A custom-made NY Adventure Club route to showcase the best family-owned eateries tucked away throughout the neighborhood
  • The origin story behind six different family-owned eateries, ranging from a century-old Italian butcher to a Tibetan cuisine start-up
  • An eclectic mix of neighborhood bites & drinks including kati rolls inspired by street vendors in Calcutta, Kenyan coffee that tastes like grapes, and cookies made in a vanilla base dough
  • A stroll through Greenwich Village to see neighborhood gems including New York's skinniest house, the front entrance to one of NYC's most infamous speakeasies, and the former residence of the Vice President responsible for Alexander Hamilton's untimely death

Come hungry!
