The Science of Touch: for both Humans and Animals

By Pathways for Progress
Online event

Overview

Understand the Science of Touch (human & animal) to improve sensory regulation, connection, and wellbeing. For the neurodiverse community.

Touch is one of the most powerful forms of communication we have, not just for humans, but across the animal world too. This Pathways for Progress workshop explores the fascinating science behind touch: how it shapes emotional wellbeing, strengthens connection, reduces stress, and supports regulation in both people and animals.

With expert insights from special guest Jayne Morton, an experienced counsellor and doctoral researcher, we’ll take a deeper look at how humans and animals use touch to communicate, bond, express needs, and create safety. Jayne's perspective provides a rare, compassionate window into the cross-species insights that can help neurodivergent individuals better understand their own sensory needs and relational styles.
