Event description

Description

In this talk, David will be speaking on self-esteem (self-love), which is a subject very personal to him, as he struggled for years with his own self-esteem. While a person can be outwardly apparently confident, it is not uncommon to be struggling on the inside with a sense of worthiness and value. So in this talk, he'll be sharing his own personal journey, plus teaching the most powerful, practical tools and strategies he learned for literally 'wiring' self-esteem into the brain. David will also discuss the power of vulnerability and of being yourself.

“David Hamilton blends hard science with theory to give a fresh new approach to self-improvement and change. His scientific background adds credibility, which makes people all the more likely to listen to what he has to say.” David J Clarkson, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, former Head of Private Business – Scotland

After completing his PhD, David worked as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer. Inspired by the placebo effect, he left the job to study and write about the impact of mind and emotions on our health. David is now the author of eleven books, and he writes a regular blog on his website and occasional blogs for the Huffington Post and Psychologies Life Labs. In 2016, he was voted ‘Best MBS Writer’ by readers of Kindred Spirit Magazine.

David has been featured on Channel 4’s, ‘Sunday Brunch Live’ in the UK as well as CBS Sunday Morning in the USA, discussing the astonishing impact of kindness and compassion on health. He has done a TEDx talk on kindness and is the Kindness Tsar for Psychologies Magazine, the UK’s leading mindful living magazine.

Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start.
