Event description
ReadWA is excited to present a workshop on the Science of Dyslexia with Dr. Carolyn Denton on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Bellevue College.

About this Event

Please join us for the first ReadWA event of 2020, The Science of Dyslexia, with Dr. Carolyn Denton. Dr. Denton has researched children with reading disabilities, ranging from intervention research on beginning readers and the instruction of decoding and foundation reading skills to research on middle school students struggling with comprehension. Dr. Denton's research on reading interventions for children with serious reading disabilities has included neuroimaging components that demonstrated changes in the patterns of brain processing with intensive reading intervention. She also worked in schools as a reading interventionist and a reading coach.

Dr. Denton brings a wealth of both scientific and practical information and experience to this workshop that will be valuable to all educators as well as parents with interest in successfully addressing the needs of students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Coffee, tea, and muffins provided. Clock hours and certificates of participation available.
