THE SAVAGE GAMES powered by ShipWreck CrossFit is proud to announce the dates and featured workouts of our 1st Individual CrossFit Competition!

Below is a brief description of RX, Scaled, & Masters 40+ Division expectations to help you determine what division to register for.

RX Division: You can efficiently do the following: pull-ups, pistol squats, muscle-ups, double-unders & handstand pushups. Additionally, you can efficiently do a full squat snatch and/or full squat clean & jerk at or above 95/135 lbs at a high level.

Scaled Divisions: Athletes that are new to the competition scene or beginners. Those who need to do modifications like jumping pull-ups, new to olympic lifting, and needs to modify most of the workouts.

Masters Division: There will be Scaled & RX - movement standards follow the same criteria as listed above.

Plate Ground To O/H: The plate must be pulled from the floor each rep to the overhead position. The athlete must finish with the plate overhead with hips, knees, and arms fully extended/locked out at the top of the movement.

Box Jump Overs: SCALED Athletes must touch on top of the box and then go over to the other side. The rep must begin with a two footed jump. STEP UPS ARE ALLOWED in the scaled divison! They DO NOT have to reach full extension with their hips and knees. The rep is complete when the athlete's feet touch the floor on the other side of the box. RX ATHLETES MUST JUMP COMPLETELY JUMP OVER THE BOX EACH REP.

T2B: The feet must break the vertical plane of the bar with both feet MAKING CONTACT with the bar inside the athlete’s hands at the same time. The bar may be touched with the toes, top, or bottom of the feet.

Plate Lunges: With the plate held any position above the hips, the athlete must touch one knee to the floor and stand up with the hips and knees fully extended. They must repeat the same process for the second knee.

PISTOLS: THE ATHLETE MUST BALANCE ON ONE LEG AND PERFORM A SQUAT WITH THE HIP CREASE PASSING BELOW THE KNEE WITH THE “OFF LEG” REMAINING OFF THE FLOOR. THE ATHLETE MUST STAND ALL THE WAY UP (HIPS FULLY EXTENDED) BEFORE THE “OFF LEG” MAKES CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. ALTERNATING IS REQUIRED. FOR THE GOBLET SQUATS, ATHLETE’S HIP CREASE MUST PASS BELOW THE KNEE AND STAND UP WITH THE HIPS AND KNEES FULLY EXTENDED.

Bar Muscle Ups: The arms must be locked out at the bottom of the movement. The athlete must finish with arms locked out at the top of the movement. The feet may NOT travel above the vertical plane of the bar during the kip.

Pullups: The arms must be fully extended at the bottom of the movement. Scaled athletes will do jumping pull ups at a 2:1 ratio and must t declare to the judge prior to the event which movement you will be doing and may not switch during the event. The chin must break the plane of the bar and arms should be fully extended at the bottom of the movement.

S2OH: The bar must be pulled from the floor to the shoulder. The athlete must finish with the bar overhead with hips, knees, and arms fully extended/locked out at the top of the movement. Any type of shoulder to o/h movement is acceptable. Push Jerk, Press, Strict Press etc.

Front Rack Lunge: With the bar racked at the shoulders, the athlete must touch one knee to the floor and stand up with the hips and knees fully extended. They must repeat the same process for the second knee.

Burpees To Rig: The athlete must touch their chest to the floor, then jump to the pull up bar on the rig. Both hands MUST touch the rig.

Deadlift into hang snatch is allowed. Full “squat” snatches and split snatches are allowed, but not required.

Sumo Deadlift High Pulls : Begin with your feet in a wide "sumo" stance with your toes pointed out at about a 30 degree angle

Your hands should take a narrow grip on the bar, inside your legs.At the top of the deadlift, athletes will perform a powerful shrug with straight arms.The athletes elbows should be high at the top of the pull.

Burpees Box Jumps: The athlete must touch their chest on the floor, then a jump or step up on the box for scaled athletes. Rx divisions must take a two footed jump.
