Habits of Highly Effective CFOs
Presented by The San Diego CFO Leadership Council
Thursday, December 8, 2016
7:15am - 8:00am Breakfast & Networking
8:00am - 9:15am Program
The role of the CFO has expanded significantly in the past decade. The skills of the “old school” CFO – financial reporting, compliance and expense management – have been replaced by skills that better support the needs of organizations competing in an increasingly complex economic world. Now more than ever, organizations need strategic, collaborative and versatile CFOs - executives who truly understand how the business works and what financial strategies best support it. So what are the skills that we as CFOs need, and where should we focus our development?
Join the San Diego CFO Leadership Council for “Habits of Highly Effective CFOs.” This panel discussion offers a diverse cross-section of business leaders who interact with chief financial officers on a daily basis. The professionals will share their insights into what truly make a highly effective CFO.
In this session, our speakers will discuss how CFOs can:
- Clarify and drive company strategy, raise executive accountability to stock holders, investors, employees and the public at large
- Nurture transparency and trust at all company levels
- Develop a risk-intelligent culture
- Embrace their position as a custodian and manager of key business performance metrics, and effectively communicate those metrics to their key stake holders
- Build a strong team to further company strategy
- Drive and influence culture in their organizations
