As the light wanes and the nights grow long, we descend — inward, downward, home to the body. This is a call to surrender. To spiral through movement and stillness, shedding what no longer serves. To dance the sacred descent — where the body remembers what the mind forgets. Descend into the body. Awaken through rhythm. Remember your sacred self!

Bare feet. Open hearts. Deep rhythm.

This dance celebrates falling and feeling. It’s a chance to surrender into the natural spiral of rooting down into winter , to listen to the body’s language. Through intention, movement, breath, and music, we descend from the mind into the heart — from doing into being. Guided by soundscapes that flow from deep earthy beats to ethereal stillness, this is a space for release, embodiment, and sacred remembering.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a free form movement practice which takes dancers through an embodied journey of inner discovery, joy and freedom. This is a self-lead and expansive space with no rules, just a few guidelines:

🌀We dance barefoot, grouning into the earth.

🌀 We dance without words, to let the body speak.

🌀 We dance without substance, no alcohol/drugs permitted. We dance on the high of our own pure energy supply.

🌀 We dance without technology, being in the present moment!

🎵Our Dj will take us on a journey through a beautifully crafted, worldly & eclectic DJ set. Weaving waves of genres and energies to get our body moving and soul smiling with our immersive silent disco headsets. Ending with softness, stillness and slow integration back into our closing circle.

🎧Co-founder and Resident Dj Jazzy Bee will be gracing the decks with an unfolding musical wave — beginning in stillness, building through deep earthy rhythms, and dissolving into spacious, ethereal soundscapes. Expect textures of rhythm that pulse from the soil to the stars — deep basslines, organic percussion, spacious melodies, and slowing beats that invite your body to rest, release, and renew. A slow ascent from subtle motion into full embodied expression, then spiraling back into stillness.

✨If you have never been to an ecstatic dance before or it may be your first time dancing sober and you feel nervous, please be assured the ED Wales team create a friendly and welcoming space. We are all on the journey together, and the dance portal is co -created by eveyones unquiness. It's a truly special experience when random humans gather together and find joy in letting our bodies be free to music with no judgement and compassion for eachother.

We will never turn anyone away from lack of funds.

Parking is available outside the Ostreme centre, but if that's full there is residential and on street parking around the centre in Mumbles.
