The Rubicon Conference is a collaborative effort involving Life Chiropractic College West, Life University, McTimoney College of Chiropractic, New Zealand College of Chiropractic and Sherman College of Chiropractic as well the McTimoney Chiropractic Association, the Scottish Chiropractic Association and the United Chiropractic Association.
The Rubicon Group is a collaboration of institutions, programs, associations and individuals that share a common emphasis relative to the chiropractic profession.
The Rubicon Group was formed to provide greater attention and focus on key issues in the worldwide development and expansion of the chiropractic profession that are critical to the positioning, growth and impact of Chiropractic.
Among the areas of emphasis for The Rubicon Group are:
• An orientation to the profession through the lens of a neo-vitalistic perspective that serves to inform and influence an ethical orientation for the profession, an epistemological framework for the profession and a societal context for interface with other healthcare providers as well as the general public.
• A focus on the practice of Chiropractic that reflects a neurologically centered approach to addressing the biomechanics of the human, as well as other vertebrates, that emphasizes the inborn ability to heal and avoids the use of medications or surgery whenever possible.
• An application of contemporary-based subluxation theory grounded in neuroscience in the care of patients and the use of chiropractic-centric terminology to convey the unique meaning and intent of the care provided by the chiropractor.
