The Sampson Orchestra of Cambridge, conducted by Darrell Davison, will begin with Schumann's Manfred Overture (1848), and will be followed by Bruch's renowned Violin Concerto No.1 (1868), featuring rising star soloist Basil Alter. The second half of the concert comprises Bruckner's wonderful "Romantic" Symphony No.4 (1874). The local charity which will benefit from this concert is It Takes A City, which is a Cambridge Homelessness Partnership.
