About this Event

The Rock & Rouge Foundation’s Fundraiser to Kick Breast Cancer

Our dear friend – a mother and sister - was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, so we're calling on all soldiers of love to help kick cancer's a** on Sunday, October 20th. Our fundraiser starts at 6:30 pm going until 9:30 pm at Montrose Bowl, an 8-lane 1950’s-themed vintage bowling alley located at 2334 Honolulu Ave. We are celebrating and honoring our friend and all who have been affected by breast cancer. Tickets are $10, and each ticket purchase automatically enters you into our door raffle. Prizes include merch from one of our sponsors Louisiana Music Factory as well as a commemorative T-shirt from the first Rock & Rouge Women’s Music & Food Festival. We will have extra T-shirts for sale as well. Live music will be provided by frontwoman Lani Ramos of Big Pearl & the Fugitives of Funk straight from New Orleans Louisiana. While they are our main act, we also invite any local female or non-binary musicians, poets, speakers, and more to participate in the open mic part of our event. Breast cancer survivors are welcome to get up and share their stories as well. Anyone interested in participating, please contact us directly at caroline@therockandrouge.com.

Our fundraiser will benefit a local Southern Californian cancer center that provides unparalleled and innovate care for all of their patients.

OUR FOUNDATION: The Rock & Rouge Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit based out of New Orleans, Louisiana that supports all forms of womxn’s empowerment. The foundation is committed to improving and supporting educational opportunities for girls in the greater New Orleans area with the future goal of granting modest scholarships to female students in the city. The Rock & Rouge Foundation has also set up the S.T.E.A.M. Tent at The Rock & Rouge Women’s Music & Food Festival to provide Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics workshops and lessons for girls ages 8-14 in partnership with other local educational organizations. Additionally, we support and participate in womxn’s empowerment projects throughout the year. More information can be found at www.therockandrouge.com/foundation.
